1. What is a 501(c)(3) charity and why does it matter?
Being a 501(c)(3) charity means that Cakes4Cause is recognized by the government for its charitable work and is exempt from most taxes. Moreover, it means that all donations made are tax deductible to the extent permissible by law. When you make a donation you will receive an email thanking you for your donation and instructing you on how to claim your tax return.
2. How much of the $15 goes to charity?
100% of all donations goes directly to charity, including all $15 from each and every cake. Our ingredients and overhead costs are very generously donated so every single dollar we receive is passed on to children in need.
